Re: Apartments
Intereting indeed Daoud. Look who was in the room next door.
Seven Eye/Duane Wessels is an interesting booking. The booking was a long term one for a single person - from 3rd March to 2nd May 2007. Seven Eye is part of the Seven Group which has a range of interests including asset management, vehicle tracking, temperature sensing, used truck sales and property management. Whilst Seven Eye is specifically the vehicle tracking part of the group, Seven Property is most relevant as they seem to have property in PDL under their management.

This has been brought to my attention recently and I thought I would share it with all of you. It has to be one huge coincidence, just has to be. Right ?
In the following appartments we have one Dipa Odedra, a booking for 2 people. Pay particular attention to the start date.
28/04-05/05 S701 Giovanni Masulo (2)

03/05-10/05 S709 Pharen Neil Thuesday* (2) *spelling as on the list
It's not the most popular of names, which is why when you google it, there is only a couple of hits. A teenage girl in London or loads in Leicester. The postcode attatched to the hits is LE5 4LU. This is the postcode for Barnes Heath House, the home of Leicester Social Services.
What is also attached to that address is Barnes Heath House Children's Home.
Remember the start date ? exactly
There is a Dipa Odedra on MySpace - she is single, aged 27 but you have to subscribe to the blog to read details.

I wonder if it is the same one Autumn based in Leicester ? It sound like a very unusual name.
I'm not a member of any of those types of social websites and not too keen on joining any really. Perhaps someone else out there is already a member and could take a look?

Re: Apartments
There are three individual named Dipa Odedra on 192.com and Tracesmart. One is in Ilford, Essex, one in Streatham ( South London) and one from Leicester.
The LE5 4LU Google for Dipa Odedra suggests that she was once a Director of an organisation with this postcode but no longer holds any directorships. ( I will double check this)
There is a Dipa Odedra on Facebook from London and ancestry.com has a record of two people by this name born in the UK in the 1980s.
So the Dipa Odedra on the booking sheets could be from Leicester or from one of the two other areas. The Odedra entry for Leicester is for 2002 only and the other are later so we might only be talking about 2 individuals rather than three ( if the one residing in Leicester in 2002 subsequently moved south)
Barnes Heath House is a children`s home in Leicester, not the Leicester social services HQ.

Whilst tidying up the apartment information ready for the new library, I have noticed a really odd booking for a Burdekin.
There is a room reserved for a Burdekin in QP01 and GP01 for the same week. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Will have a closer look at this later on.
This post also serves as a reminder for me to look into it later.

Re: Apartments
There seems to be an awful lot and I mean a LOT, of Thomas Cooke guests out there that week for just 2 people, presumably 2 adults.
Would this suggest that there was something going on out there that week like a golf tournament or something else? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
If there is anyone out there who knows of special occasion bookings with Thomas Cooke in the Algarve, please let us know.

Re: Apartments
I have just been updating the apartment thread in the library, cause silly old me forgot to add the T9 lot and it has just occurred to me that on the OC lists, there is no one else listed in the G5 block, other than the tapas 9?? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Does this mean that they were all located in a private block ??

Re: Apartments
I've been thinking about this a little bit more.
What do we know about the G5 block?
Mrs Fenn owns and lives in the apartment directly above the McCann's one.
The McCann's G5A, Oldfield G5B and Tanner/ O'Brien G5D, were all on the ground floor.
The Payne's G5H were on the first floor.
Someone released information that G5C was empty. Who did this and why?
There are no other apartments in the entire G5 block on the daily OC guest lists. Mrs Fenn as a resident is not there.
Which can only mean, all of the missing apartment numbers are either lived in, just like Mrs Fenn, or rented out and empty. But if they were empty, why did someone only release information about G5C being empty.
What about the apartments either side of the Payne's?

Are there any records relating to the staff and where they stayed in Praia da Luz that week? - the creche workers for example.
I once looked up the quizmistress, Najoua Chekaya, and was surprised to see that she lives very close to Dianne Webster, as follows:
Bridget Chekaya
Lilia Chekaya &
Majoua (may be mis-spelt for Najoua) Chekaya. 12 Chaucer Road, Flitwick, Bedford, MK45 1QG.
Dianne Webster 59 Wilden Road, Renhold, Bedford. MK41 0LY.
I wondered if they knew each other before they went on holiday?
Also, is Dianne Webster the wife or ex-wife of a Dr Webster who is an anaesthetist?
And what is Dianne Webster's profession?

The 'Hertfordshire' family man who spoke to the McCanns on the night Madeleine was reported missing. His children were being minded. David James Smith in 'The Times' (16 Dec 2007) said how grateful Dr Gerald McCann was that he could enjoy his dinner and drinks at the table without 'having to' have his children with him.
Carpenter was also the bloke who backed up Murat's scarcely credible claim not to have known what was happening in Praia da Luz until Carpenter sauntered by that Friday morniing (4 May) and Murat called out something like: 'Hey up, did anything go off last night?' (see Carpenter and Murat statements). To which Murat replied something like: 'Ee by gum, I be bilingual, maybe I could do some translations for the cops' and then hot-footed it up to the Ocean Club.

I will look into this more closely, but vaguely remember that they did not give exact room numbers only names of blocks. But I will check, now that it is more important. There is also a block on the OC map that does not have any numbers attached to it at all, which might suggest a staff block? This is something that would also be good to include in the dog route map.

Having looked very closely at this OC map, compared with the OC guest lists, there are two blocks of apartments I am very interested in.
On the left you will see block 5. As we know, this is where G5A, G5B, G5D & G5H are located.
Directly above this block are two other blocks, a white one numbered 2 and a blue one not numbered.
The one marked 2, should in theory be numbered as above something like G2A, but there are no reservations with that kind of reference.
As for the blue block with no numbers at all, could this be the staff accommodation? If so, look how close it is to G5A. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Is anyone planning a trip to Portugal soon?

I didn't realise the Millennium was where it is as marked on this map.
I'm putting togtether a map of the area (this one is only temporary) and would like to add all areas of interest including holiday apartment locations.
Does anyone have a reference map for these or any other points of interest?

Hello HdH
AFAIR, apartments "BP.." are in the same block as that marked Reception and Kids' Club. The Naylors were in BP01. I believe each group of apartments with "P" as second letter is named after a different type of Palm tree. BP is thought to be Banana Palm.
ETA: On the plan of the OC, "Palm Bay" is written close to the Reception and Kids' Club building. I expect all the different "palm" apartments are in that block.

Did I dream this but weren't there some photographs of the Nannies in party mode/pyjama mode? Or was that from another MW complex. Nothing wrong with young gals having a bit of fun, but after seeing/hearing first hand a group of so called Nannies/Reps and their nocturnal shenanigans on a trip to Italy I was astounded that they even managed to get out of bed in the morning.
And before anyone says ah but ah but, these Nannies were vetted with great care, so were the ones I am speaking of.

Re: Apartments
Thankyou for that Getem. Makes very interesting reading. And why all the comments about it not being the babysitters fault.

Re: Apartments
I don't know if this is the right place for this, but does anyone the weekly rates that were paid for these appartments?
It seems odd to me that so many 'professionals' would be staying in what appears to be rather 'basic' (and pretty shoddy, going by some of the images) accommodation.
(To put this into context I have attached a pic of the PDL apartment we rented in 2014. For myself, my wife and 6 month old son it cost £220 for the week)
I reaslise that other facilities were included but I would be interested to know what the approximate rates were. I simply cannot see anyone paying a great deal to stay in such a place.
