Another little ruse that he and Gerry 'hatched' in case this case ever reached a courtroom.
GA didn't 'back down' even after they tried to offer a settlement, twice, and this is where we are,
They never, ever thought they'd be in a courtroom!
We'll soon find out because i'm emailing NYP.
If it's true then fine.
But if it's not Wright has just totally besmirched the NYP 'reputation'.
Anyone giving odds that 'oh, erm i THOUGHT Gerry had told NYP'
I agree totally. This sounds like another 'seabass' or 'tea stain' incident, I bet they have lots of different stories prepared to draw upon.

For the second night running, the next day's headlines are causing me such trauma and distress that I need to sue somebody!
There might well have been the odd nutcase making empty threats when fuelled up with booze but I'm sure it wasn't on a site like the 3As.

It's doing more harm to the surviving children than any book in Portuguese ever could. The book in question isn't LURID.. like this garbage is. How many of the twins schoolmates will see these headlines ? They all use corner shops and /or supermarkets. These demented headlines will do untold damage.

Whatever the views of members of this forum about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, some sober observations about the 'twins kidnap plot' story must be set out.
I think it has appeared in at least four British newspapers, the Mail, the Express, the Mirror and the Star.
These three British newspapers alone have a combined circulation of around 6 million - and a combined readership of double that number (around 12 million).
I have done a quick check on Google News. The 'twins kidnap plot' story appears in the online editions of at least 21 publications so far. Top of the list at the moment is this one:
http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2013/09/20/madeleine-mccann-did-conspiracy-theorists-plot-to-kidnap-twin-brother-sister/
That means that millions, maybe tens of millions, will read a story that recycles, as a plain fact, Michael Wright's evidence that 'anti-McCann conspiracy theorists' actively 'plotted', on 'several anti-McCann websites', to kidnap the twins (even though, if there ever was such a plot, it must have been discussed well over 4 years ago and has never been reported on in the media hitherto).
It is alleged by Wright that there was a long thread on the former '3 Arguidos' site discussing this. I was a very active member of that forum for nearly a year, when it was at its height, and I never saw such a thread.
I can only presume that Michael Wright, when he was surfing the net trawling the 'anti-McCann' forums (as he has admitted), took screenshots of the said thread(s) and kidnap threats and has formally exhibited them to his signed witness statement.
However, we shall probably never know.
The fact is that a large number of people will believe that there are indeed 'anti-McCann' forums out there (and this one is the leading one and has been for 2 years) which really do stoop to discussing plots involving active plans to kidnap the twins.
I am prepared to bet that, before long, the idea that there really are 'anti-McCann forums full of conspiracy theorists who are even prepared to discuss abducting the twins' will be recycled as fact by certain newspaper columnists and media commentators.
And of course the story hugely feeds the claim that the interrnet is a lawless place that needs to be tightly regulated and controlled by governments, echoing comments last year by the anti-free press Lord Leveson in his clunking report, backed by 'Hacked Off', which recommeded state control of the British press.
The 'twins kidnap plot' story may therefore have a very long way still to run.
Unless someone can think of a quick way of killing it.

Have I got this straight?
The first of thehappy couple's relatives to give evidence has sworn on oath that 'conspiracy theorists' on t'internet planned to abduct kidnap one or other of the twins who were drugged up to the eyeballs slept through not only their older sister's alleged abduction but through the non hue and cry that ensued with a cast of thousands tramping around their bedroom and continued in the land of nod despite being taken out into the night air to another apartment - in which process they were carried by police officers rather than either/both of their parents.
The exact time when the twins woke up the following day is not known, but it is known that shortly thereafter they wereoffloaded consigned to the care of the kids' club staff. How were the 'theorists' intending to elicit information from a child who was 2 years old when the event kicked off? Hypnosis?
And Gerry reported this alleged threat to the wellbeing of his remaining children to the Yorkshire force rather than his local Leicestshire police.

Here comes that whiff of Eau d'Rat again... the plot doesn't so much thicken as sets into a rock hard substance which, on close scrutiny, is composed of no substance at all.
Why am I getting the feeling it's going to break in the not too distant future...

Re: 'Anti-McCann' websites plotted to kidnap one of Madeleine's siblings - Daily Mail INCLUDES TWEETS FROM JERRY LAWTON RE MICHAEL WRIGHT TESTIMONY
I think the kidnap threat is a sexed up version of the supposed death threats on the Madeleine Controversy Facebook group. The McCanns were unbelievably successful with that particular scam and got the front page of several tabloids. Internet trolls are a hot topic at the moment and a great way to get sympathy. By tweaking a few details they have made it more sensational by changing the target from Kate to the twins. Again, they are shamelessly using those children to manipulate public sympathy and in my opinion that is wrong on every level. The story can no doubt be quickly disproved, but they have the headlines they wanted - 'Kidnap Threat to Twins'. By the time it is revealed as a hoax, the damage will already have been done and all the public will remember is the kidnap threat. Similarly while most people recall that Goncalo's Amaral's book was banned, the fact that the ban was overturned, and it is back on sale passes them by.
The McCanns still appear to be pulling the strings, they have learned a number of tricks over the years. Goncalo was obviously way ahead of us in asking for the trial to be heard in private. He probably foresaw what was going to happen. The McCanns will fight back with what they do best. Negative propaganda. They are clearly prepared to get down in the mud and the blood and the beer by dragging the twins into the case, and lets hope the Judge can see the histrionics for what they are. Dr. Amaral really doesn't have to do very much at all. He has an Ace up his sleeve - The Truth.

Link shows traffic was heaviest in month of July 2008.
What happened that month? News of the Announcement of Shelving of the case, of course.
The pre-shelving news anticipation, as well as the post-shelving explosion of discussions explain the heavy traffic in that month at 3As.
It's blatant the damage was already there when they were made arguidos; and people were keeping up verociously with the case way back then, before the book release.
If damage occurs, it happened when the parents became suspects of involvement. It's the reason they won their case against Express, although other titles were also covering their news to the hilt.
Hope someone with team Amaral's contact inform them that the popularity of 3As runs in conjunction period with the news in mainstream, and points them to the waybackmachine link above listing JULY 2008 as having highest readership. NOTHING to do with the BOOK, because this was pre-book release.
It's ridiculous of their witness to cite police report of threat incident when they did not provide date of incident to prove what causes that.
Moreover, unless they summon the inciter (threat maker) as witness, there's no way to prove what was the reason for his paper threat. If such a threat exits, which I doubt, it's just
e-threat nothing more. Since 3As was hacked, who's to know the hacker wasn't Mccanns' plant. IMV, that's a whole new territory for scrutiny if they want to bring internet into the picture which has absolutely nothing to do with their claims against Amaral's book.

It's clearly a (cunning) plan to blame the publishing of GA's book for inciting a (probably invented) violent nutcase on the Internet to "take revenge" on the McCanns.
It's a variation on the false flag incidents which have happened so often in the past.
I just hope that most people will see it for the nonsense that it is.

quote ultima Thule : " And Gerry reported this alleged threat to the wellbeing of his remaining children to the Yorkshire force rather than his local Leicestshire police. "
Strange, was this stated in the evidence? I read that MW told GM of his findings. I would have thought that either both men would contact their respective local police force or one would have reported it and there would have been subsequent liaison between the 2 forces.
My impression was that MW was interviewed by his local force because he was the witness to the online content.
